After working for the Stennis Institute for two years as a student worker, Tom Mason was hired recently as full time Computer Electronics Technician. His primary roll is assisting in maintaining the technological infrastructure at the Stennis Institute. He also contributes with data mining and the use of GIS software to produce maps used in numerous Stennis publications and projects.

Tom received his Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering in December of 2007, along with a certification in Information Assurance. He plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration at Mississippi State University beginning in the spring of 2008.

Tom's interests include network and computer security, project management, GIS analysis and mapping, and coding and scripting of data mining tools.

Tom is the son of Dr. T. David and Tyffany Mason. Dr. Mason is currently the Johnie Christian Family Peace Professor at the University of North Texas and is a former professor of Political Science at Mississippi State University.
