Philip S. Pierce received BA from Mississippi College and a MPPA from Mississippi State University. His first involvement with the Stennis Institute was working with Dr. Wiseman on "County Unit" legislation while employed by the Mississippi Economic Council. Initially worked at Mississippi State as a lobbyist (primarily to aid the Office of Research) and also did Press Tours for the Office of Research. At the request of the Mississippi Development Authority, started Japan-America Society of Mississippi (jointly with Dr. Suzuki of MS State and College of Business) and recently started "Mississippi Economic Forum" as a joint venture of the Stennis Institute and the College of Business.
